Federal complaint filed against WSU over bear deaths and newly revealed incident involving sheep
By Evan Ellis, PullmanRadio.com, June 2, 2016

A national research watchdog group has filed a federal complaint against Washington State University over what they call a “bungling lab.”

Stop Animal Exploitation Now announced Thursday morning that they have filed the complaint after discovering a new federal report. The group says an investigation from the USDA looked into the previously announced deaths of two bears at WSU. The federal probe also apparently reveals another major WSU research mistake involving the drug overdose of bighorn sheep.

According to the group the federal document details an instance when sheep were mistakenly given 50 times the prescribed dose of a drug for three straight days. The group is asking the USDA to fine WSU the maximum 10,ooo a day per infraction per animal.
