Group Of Students Protest For Primates At University Of Utah
Oct. 6, 2004
A group of students protested for primates today at
the University of Utah. About 40 demonstrators associated with the
Animal Rights Coalition lined the Eccles Legacy Bridge, and called for
the University to stop research experiments on monkeys. The organizer
says the "U" is ignoring calls for a more humane approach.
Jeremy Beckham/Utah Primate Freedom Project: "THE U OF
U HAS RESPONDED BY LOCKING LAB DOORS, PROTECTING RECORDS AND NOT LETTING
THE PUBLIC KNOW HOW THEIR TAX DOLLARS ARE BEING SPENT."
A handful of students supporting the research showed
up to represent the other side.
