Please LEVY a MAXIMUM FINE against this repeat violator, West Virginia University, for their blatant disregard of the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) when their negligence killed 16 sheep. This repeat offender's behavior must NOT be tolerated and MUST be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Complaint addressing dead sheep filed against WVU
By The Dominion Post, April 7, 2016

MORGANTOWN ó A research watchdog group discovered 16 sheep were killed at WVU, resulting in a federal citation for violation of the Animal Welfare Act.

An inspection by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture from March 15 cites WVU for inadequate veterinary care in relation to the deaths of the 16 sheep. All sheep died in connection to a single project and either died unexpectedly or were euthanized, according to a press release.

Stop Animal Exploitation NOW! (SAEN), which monitors the nationís research facilities for illegal wrongdoings, has filed an official complaint with the USDA relevant to the sheep deaths, insisting on additional citations for inadequate animal handling and unqualified personnel. The complaint also calls for a maximum federal fine.
