Please levy the MAXIMUM FINE against Washington State University for their blatant disregard of the Animal Welfare Act revealed in recent information where their negligence killed a dog, six bighorn sheep, denied pain relief to bears, denied water to calves, and caused broken legs in rabbits. Previous information revealed that WSU negligence killed bears and sheep. Their negligence MUST NOT be tolerated and MUST be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Allegations of Animal Abuse Continue in New Documents
By Zach Anders,, July 15, 2016

More reported animal deaths at Washington State University has escalated the allegations made by the Stop Animal Exploitation Now or SAEN. Records obtained and released yesterday by SAEN show reported negligent animal deaths and injuries from Bighorn Sheep, rabbits, calves, and even a dog.

The claims include that calves weren’t given enough water, rabbits with broken legs, and a dog taken in that allegedly did not receive timely veterinary care, documents included there “was a lot of blood in the cage”. SAEN uncovered this information from public records requests and are now advocating for the furthest penalty the USDA can enforce.

A response from WSU was unable to be reached on short notice however, they have agreed to comment and we will follow up. This report follows SAEN’s initial allegations of mistreatment surrounding bear deaths at the Bear Research Center a few months ago.
