University of Montana research facility cited by federal regulators for violating federal law
From Olivia Roberts, KXLY.com, August 9, 2018

MISSOULA, Mont. - SAEN, an Ohio-based nonprofit watchdog group that monitors research facilities nationwide, has reported that the USDA has cited the University for violating federal law.

A recently issued inspection report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture cites University of Montana researchers for causing a degu to become hypothermic during surgery because of the negligent and improper use of warming equipment. The animal did not recover from the anesthesia and died.

All documents are available upon request from SAEN.
