Animal Rights Group Claims U of A Cited for Harming Animals

An animal rights watchdog group says the University of Arkansas has been cited for violating the animal welfare act.

Stop Animal Exploitation Now representatives say that multiple U of A inspection reports show the university was responsible for burning nine animals resulting in the death of one of them.

A university representative said the issues were primarily the result of a malfunctioning heating pad.

"The university is committed to the humane and ethical treatment of animals and will continue working to improve our process moving forward," a university statement said.See also:
