Please LEVY a MAXIMUM FINE against Calvert Laboratories for their blatant disregard of the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) when their negligence caused severe eye pain to dozens of beagles. This behavior must NOT be tolerated and MUST be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

SAEN accuses Lackawanna Co. lab of animal cruelty

From Jack Reinhard,, March 4, 2020

SCOTT TWP., LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WOLF) A laboratory in Lackawanna County is being accused of illegal activities and animal abuse.

Stop Animal Exploitation Now has filed a federal complaint against Calvert Laboratory in Scott Township.

They say the laboratory violated requirements for adequate veterinary care.

The organization claims in a report the lab described dogs experiencing pawing, squinting and vocalization.

"Hopefully the pressure that will be generated against Calvert Laboratories by public awareness, will force them to change what they're doing," said Michael Budkie, AHT, Co-Founder of SAEN.

SAEN claims there is no discussion in the report of vetrinary care or pain relief for dogs.

We reached out to Calvert Laboratories a couple times, but have not heard back.
