Taking on Procter & Gamble – The International Day of Action

The International Day of Action against Procter and Gamble 2005 was May 21st, and SAEN led the U.S. in the fight against needless product testing by this corporate giant. This year SAEN coordinated U.S. participation in the event, marshaling activists for events in 16 cities spread across 11 states.

“This was a wonderful first step in this campaign,” said Michael A. Budkie, A.H.T., SAEN’s Executive Director. “Our next action against Procter & Gamble will be even larger and more effective.”

Uncaged Campaigns in Great Britain coordinated the event internationally with protests in: Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, South Africa, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Italy, Israel, and about 80 events took place in Great Britain

"Procter and Gamble has deliberately misled consumers into believing they are one of the good guys regarding animal testing," said Michael A. Budkie, A.H.T., SAEN's Executive Director. "Nothing could be further from the truth. We intend to make sure that consumers get the facts."

"The aim of the campaign is to apply financial pressure to P&G to persuade them to stop animal tests," said Dan Lyons, Uncaged Campaigns Director. "Once people are informed, they're eager to boycott P&G, because they don't want to pay for gratuitous animal suffering, and they can see that hundreds of companies make similar products without resorting to cruel testing methods."

Please join our efforts to pressure this consumer products giant into eliminating animal testing.

Boycott all P&G products, and call or write protesting their corporate abuse of animals:
