SAEN launches TV Ads targeting UC Primate Experiments

On April 21st, 2009, SAEN announced the airing of a new cutting-edge TV commercial during dramatic news conferences in both San Francisco and Davis, CA. The paid TV spot aired in primetime on CNN, Animal Planet, CNN Headline News, and Fox News in Berkeley, Davis, San Francisco, and Los Angeles areas. By interspersing dramatic text with shocking photos, this ground-breaking TV spot educates viewers about the reality of animal experimentation. This commercial ran for a week in major California cities reaching hundreds of thousands of people. Media interest in the commercial was substantial, with the ad even generating an editorial in The Aggie, the newspaper of the University of California, Davis.

The editorial stated that the SAEN commercial represented a tremendous step forward. The editorial goes on to say that By simply airing a commercial, SAEN . . . has elevated animal rights groups as a whole and taken a step toward being taken more seriously.

The SAEN TV spot can be seen here and on YouTube.

The text of the commercial is reproduced below with the actual pictures interspersed.
