THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS

There are over 1100 U.S. facilities that test or experiment on animals (who are required to send reports to the USDA to continue to get taxpayer funding). We have listed them by state in a format that is more user friendly than finding this information through the USDA's website.

These are reports that animal laboratories are required to submit to the USDA. They list species and numbers of animals used and some reports include explanations of and justifications for experiments conducted. Some information has been redacted (blocked out) by the USDA before the reports are posted for the public.

Again... THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS

We are continually updating information for each state and each facility. Check back often!

Thank you for all you do to end vivisection!

Rats, mice, birds, amphibians and other animals have been excluded from coverage by the Animal Welfare Act. Therefore research facility reports do not include these animals. As a result of this situation, a blank report, or one with few animals listed, does not mean that a facility has not performed experiments on non-reportable animals. A blank form does mean that the facility in question has not used covered animals (primates, dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, pigs, sheep, goats, etc.). Rats and mice alone are believed to comprise over 90% of the animals used in experimentation. Therefore the majority of animals used at research facilities are not even counted.
